We came across the very interesting idea of combining a vertical planter with a house number. The project is featured on sarahhearts and requires the following supplies: a circle wall planter, house numbers, spray paint and primer, glue, a drill, screws and, of course, potting mix and succulents. You can display your creation on the wall right next to your front door or on your porch.
Farrow & Ball’s Oval Room Blue. A grey blue that is a soft by darkened historic shade of blue. It is because of its deep undertones (keeping in mind that tones and shades refer to adding grey/black to a color, while tint is added white) that the blue feels so aged and classically timeless. It pairs beautifully with popular modern greys and creates a deep, cozy ambiance, yet the color provides a lovely, stable background against which vibrant accent colors can pop. Similarly, Restoration Hardware’s Dusk is a muted, sophisticated grey-blue that leans just slightly heavier toward the blue spectrum than other grey blues. The shade is soft enough that it can work almost as a neutral. Almost. But when paired with other neutrals, the color becomes a lovely harmonious thread that brings everything together. It is fresh without feeling zesty, delightful without overdoing.
Neutral colors will always be classic. This is perhaps one of the most appealing aspect of neutral colors: They are classic and, most likely, you won’t grow tired of them quickly, if ever. You can easily incorporate trendy and/or vibrant colors and prints into your décor whenever you feel like it if your decoration foundation is built around neutral colors. Some might consider neutral colors as an investment that ensures an interior that never grows old, unlike, say, that lipstick red accent wall or bright blue “coastal” bedroom that you just had to have.
